For Reviewers
Peer review is central to the quality of MINDSET. We are grateful to the reviewers who give their time and expertise to the journal.
Review Model
MINDSET operates double-blind peer review. The identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, and by a statistical reviewer where the analysis requires it.
Timelines
- Response to an invitation: within seven days.
- Submission of the review: within twenty-eight days of the invitation.
- Review of a revised manuscript: within fourteen days.
If you need more time, please inform the editor as early as possible.
What to Assess
- Originality and contribution to nursing and mental health science.
- Clarity and justification of the research question.
- Appropriateness of the design, sampling, and measurement.
- Adequacy of the statistical analysis and its reporting.
- Ethical conduct and compliance with the relevant reporting guideline.
- Accuracy and currency of the literature.
- Clarity of writing and structure.
Comments to the authors should be specific and actionable. Comments intended only for the editor should be entered in the confidential field of the review form.
Confidentiality and Use of AI
A manuscript under review is a confidential document. It must not be shared, discussed, or retained after the review is complete. Reviewers must not upload a manuscript, or any part of it, to a generative AI tool. Reviewers write their own reports; any use of an AI tool in preparing a report must be disclosed to the editor.
Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must decline an invitation where they have a financial, professional, or personal relationship with the authors, or any other interest that could affect their judgement. If a conflict becomes apparent after accepting, please inform the editor immediately.
Ethical Concerns
If you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or another ethical problem, raise it confidentially with the editor rather than in the comments to the authors.
Recognition
MINDSET publishes an annual list of reviewers. Reviewers may add their contributions to their ORCID record, and the editorial office provides written confirmation of completed reviews on request.
Becoming a Reviewer
Researchers with a doctorate and a publication record in the scope of the journal are welcome to join the reviewer pool. Please register on this website, select the Reviewer role, and enter your areas of expertise and ORCID iD. Questions may be sent to reviews@mindsetjournal.org.
